Terms of Service

1. Accepting these terms

By creating an account, accessing BookMyLesson, or using a BookMyLesson booking experience, you agree to these Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy. If you use BookMyLesson for a Studio or other organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these terms for it. You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter a contract to create a Studio-owner account.

2. The service

BookMyLesson provides tools for booking, calendars, student and instructor management, lesson offers, packages, reminders, follow-ups, analytics, and payment-related workflows. Features may develop over time. BookMyLesson may improve, replace, add, or discontinue features, but will not intentionally delete Studio data solely because a paid feature becomes unavailable.

3. Accounts and Studio responsibilities

• Provide accurate account and billing information and keep it current.
• Protect passwords and connected accounts and notify BookMyLesson promptly of suspected unauthorized access.
• Use appropriate staff permissions and ensure each person using an account is authorized.
• Obtain notices, permissions, and consents required to collect and use student, family, instructor, calendar, and payment information.
• Maintain and honor the Studio’s lesson, cancellation, refund, attendance, and privacy policies.
• Comply with laws applicable to the Studio, its services, and its communications.

The Studio—not BookMyLesson—is the provider of music lessons and is responsible for lesson quality, instructor qualifications, student safety, scheduling decisions, refunds, taxes, and disputes with students or families.

4. Student and family information

The Studio retains its rights in information it enters or receives through BookMyLesson. The Studio authorizes BookMyLesson to host, copy, transmit, display, and otherwise process that information only as reasonably needed to provide, secure, support, and improve the service or comply with law.

BookMyLesson does not sell Studio-provided student information or use student names, lesson history, schedules, or contact details for advertising or unrelated BookMyLesson marketing.

5. Trials, plans, billing, and cancellation

New eligible Studios may receive a 14-day Premium trial without a credit card. When the trial ends, the Studio may select an available paid plan. If no plan is active, the private dashboard and Studio data may remain accessible while public booking, embeds, integrations, automations, or other plan-dependent services pause.

Paid subscriptions renew for the selected billing period unless canceled. Prices, included usage, and plan limits are shown before purchase. A cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period unless stated otherwise. Fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated by BookMyLesson.

BookMyLesson subscription charges are separate from payments a Studio collects from students through its connected Stripe account. The Studio is responsible for its student charges, refunds, disputes, taxes, and Stripe account.

6. Connected services

A Studio may choose to connect third-party services such as Google Calendar and Stripe. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy practices. The Studio authorizes BookMyLesson to exchange the information necessary to perform the requested connection. BookMyLesson is not responsible for third-party outages, account restrictions, policy changes, or actions outside BookMyLesson’s control.

7. Acceptable use

You may not use BookMyLesson to:

• Break the law, infringe rights, harass people, or facilitate harmful or fraudulent activity.
• Upload malicious code, probe security, bypass access controls, interfere with service operation, or access another Studio’s data without authorization.
• Send unlawful or deceptive communications, including spam.
• Copy, resell, reverse engineer, or exploit BookMyLesson except as allowed by law or written permission.
• Use the service to store data unrelated to legitimate Studio operations in a way that creates unreasonable risk or burden.

8. BookMyLesson ownership and license

BookMyLesson and its licensors own the software, design, branding, documentation, and other service materials. Subject to these terms and the applicable plan, BookMyLesson grants the Studio a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the service for its internal business and public booking operations. Feedback may be used to improve BookMyLesson without payment or restriction, but BookMyLesson will not publicly identify the person providing it without permission.

9. Suspension and termination

A Studio may stop using BookMyLesson at any time. BookMyLesson may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to address nonpayment, a security risk, illegal activity, serious misuse, or a material breach of these terms. When practical, BookMyLesson will provide notice and an opportunity to fix the issue. Upon termination, rights to use the service end, but provisions that logically should survive—including payment obligations, ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and indemnity—remain in effect.

10. Service availability and disclaimers

BookMyLesson is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, BookMyLesson disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. BookMyLesson does not guarantee that reminders will always be delivered, calendars will always be available, every conflict will be detected, bookings will generate revenue, or third-party services will operate without interruption.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BookMyLesson and its owners, employees, contractors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, goodwill, data, or business interruption arising from the service.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BookMyLesson’s total liability for all claims relating to the service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount the Studio paid BookMyLesson during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or (b) $100. These limits do not apply where the law does not allow them.

12. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, the Studio will defend, indemnify, and hold BookMyLesson and its owners, employees, and contractors harmless from third-party claims, damages, losses, and reasonable costs arising from the Studio’s lessons, instructors, content, policies, student relationships, violation of law, misuse of the service, or breach of these terms.

13. Changes and general terms

BookMyLesson may update these terms as the service develops. Material changes will be communicated through the service, by email, or by another reasonable method. Continued use after the effective date of updated terms means you accept them.

If one provision is unenforceable, the rest remain effective. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer these terms without BookMyLesson’s written consent; BookMyLesson may transfer them as part of a merger, financing, reorganization, or sale. These terms, the Privacy Policy, and plan-specific terms presented at purchase form the agreement between you and BookMyLesson regarding the service.
