Privacy Policy

1. Who this policy covers

BookMyLesson provides scheduling, booking, calendar, student-management, payment-support, and studio-operation tools for music studios and independent instructors. “Studio” means the business or teacher using BookMyLesson. “Family” means a student, parent, guardian, or other person booking or managing lessons with a Studio.

For information a Studio enters or receives about its students and families, the Studio decides why that information is used and BookMyLesson processes it to provide the service. For BookMyLesson account, billing, security, and website information, BookMyLesson determines how that information is used.

2. Information we process

• Studio account information: owner and instructor names, studio name, email, phone number, plan, settings, and login information.
• Student and family information: names, parent or guardian names, contact information, instrument, instructor, lesson history, status, notes entered by the Studio, package information, attendance, and scheduling details.
• Booking and calendar information: lesson offers, availability, dates, times, recurring schedules, cancellations, blocked time, and Google Calendar identifiers or event details needed for sync.
• Payment information: transaction references, amounts, status, refunds, and related records. Card details are processed by Stripe and are not stored by BookMyLesson.
• Technical information: browser and device information, IP address, timestamps, diagnostics, security events, and service logs.
• Messages: support requests, feedback, and email-subscription requests.

3. How information is used

• Provide and maintain booking, calendars, student records, reminders, follow-ups, payments, analytics, and account features.
• Connect and synchronize services the Studio chooses, including Google Calendar and Stripe.
• Authenticate users, secure accounts, prevent abuse, troubleshoot errors, and improve reliability.
• Provide support, communicate service or billing changes, and comply with legal obligations.
• Use de-identified or aggregated information that does not identify a Studio, student, or family to understand and improve the service.

4. When information is shared

Information is shared only as needed to operate the service, at a Studio’s direction, or when legally required. This may include:

• Service providers that host, secure, support, or monitor BookMyLesson.
• Google when a Studio connects Google Calendar. Calendar data is used to provide the requested import and synchronization features and is handled subject to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
• Stripe for BookMyLesson subscriptions and, separately, for Studio-connected lesson payments. BookMyLesson subscription billing is kept separate from a Studio’s transactions with its students.
• Authorities or professional advisers when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect people or the service, or establish and defend legal claims.
• A successor in a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.

5. Children and student information

BookMyLesson is a business service intended for adult Studio owners, instructors, parents, and guardians. It is not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 may not create BookMyLesson owner or instructor accounts.

Studios and families may enter information about a minor student to schedule and manage music lessons. The Studio is responsible for providing required notices and obtaining any consent or authorization required for that information. A parent or guardian may contact the Studio or BookMyLesson to request access, correction, or deletion.

6. Retention and deletion

Information is retained while an account is active and as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain booking and transaction history, resolve disputes, meet legal obligations, and protect the service. Studios control deletion and archiving options available in the product. After an account closes, BookMyLesson deletes or de-identifies information on a reasonable schedule unless continued retention is required by law, requested by the Studio, or necessary for security, fraud prevention, or legal claims.

7. Security

BookMyLesson uses administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed for the nature of the information it processes. No online service can guarantee perfect security. Studio owners are responsible for strong passwords, limiting staff access, securing connected services, and promptly reporting suspected unauthorized access.

8. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information, or object to certain processing. Studio owners can update much of their information in the dashboard. Students and families should normally contact their Studio first because the Studio controls its student records. Anyone may contact BookMyLesson for help.

BookMyLesson does not currently sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising. If that changes, this policy and any legally required choices will be updated before the change takes effect.

9. Changes to this policy

This policy may change as BookMyLesson develops. Material changes will be communicated through the service, by email, or by another reasonable method. The effective date above identifies the latest version.
